SEATTLE DANCE FESTIVAL

A fictional event created as part of an Interactive Design course at James Madison University. This fictional event presented itself as The 2020 Seattle Dance Festival. 

The premise of this dance festival is an annual research exploration for advanced and professional dance artists taking place in Seattle, hosted by Washington State University. This program serves as an invitation to dive into an intimate creative process facilitated by extraordinary faculty and guest companies from around the world. In this one-week period, artists from all backgrounds and interests will have the opportunity to engage in collaborative dialogue through movement, deepen their personal artistic approach, and explore movement with meaning and sensitivity to the stakeholders of a story. Dancers will have the opportunity to deepen in a variety of elements of their choosing including,

 

floorwork ― partnering ― various technique ― improvisation ― creative processes.
